My Thoughts on 9/11, Immigration and Jobs

Image
9/11 happened a long time back. Our nation needs to heal and move forward. We must never forget the lives lost and and always remember the sacrifices made during that horrific tragedy. We must also continually watch out for the lone wolves or radicals who seek to destroy our peace. We must also work together on stopping new illegal immigrants coming to our country, but must do so in the right way, the human way, the peaceful way! However, we can't terrorize our immigrants because they look different or believe they "took away our jobs." According to numerous studies, legal immigrants have not only created more jobs in our glorious republic, but also have been peaceful and at times, model community members. These immigrants work hard for a living, and moved here in the pursuit of giving a better life for themselves and their families. Immigrants also bring diversity to the workplace which results in greater creativity and opportunity. Some immigrants have ma...

Happy 239th Independence Day USA

Image
On behalf of the oGoing team, I wish Americans everywhere in USA and the world Happy 239th Independence Day! We have a lot to be thankful for the freedom and liberties that we enjoy in USA. We cannot take our freedoms and independence for granted. There are many terrorist organizations in the world who are bent on destroying the very fabric of humanity and peace. ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Taliban, Boko Haram are some of the worst offenders and perpetrators. They are bent on spreading terrorism and destroying human lives. To them, killing innocent people including women and children is part of their mission. We should take a moment and thank the brave men and women of our police forces, military and defense organizations such as FBI, National Security Agency and CIA who keep these terrorists away from USA soil and keep us safe! They work 24/7/365 to ensure that our freedoms are always secured and protected. Have a safe, fun and relaxing July 4th Holiday. Enjoy the fireworks and Join...

7 Classic Jokes Made by USA Presidents

Image
Everyone needs a good laugh every so often. It's great to see that some U.S. presidents have demonstrated a great sense of humor, even self-deprecating at times. One president stands out though from all the jokesters: Ronald Reagan. He was the president when I moved to USA from India in 1987, and I have to say, the Great Communicator was really funny and inspiring. Here are 7 Classic Jokes made by U.S. Presidents in no particular order of their humor quotient: " In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a Congress ." - John Adams " My esteem in this country has gone up substantially. It is very nice now when people wave at me, they use all their fingers ." - Jimmy Carter " Did you ever think that making a speech on economics is a lot like pissing down your leg? It seems hot to you, but it never does to anyone else ." - Lyndon Johnson " Being president is like running a c...

India will Celebrate 68th Independence Day on August 15

Image
My mother country India will be celebrating 67 years of Independence on August 15 . I will be simultaneously celebrating 21 years of marriage on August 15 (my wife and I got married in Buena Park, Orange County on August 15, 1993 according to Hindu custom). I live in the greatest democracy of the world United States of America with my family and love the free-spirit, opportunity, education, security and equality that USA offers to our citizens. I moved to USA in 1987 along with my sister in pursuit of the dream, went to school here, found my life partner, got married, was blessed with two beautiful children and became a naturalized USA citizen in 2008. My wife is our rock of the family.   At the same time, I am privileged to be born and raised in the largest democracy of the world India that is poised to prosper every day under the leadership of prime minister Shri Narendra Modi. Growing up in India with my parents, sisters, grand parents, and close family members taught me about o...

Happy Memorial Day 2013

Image
Happy Memorial Day 2013! "It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country in wars far away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray-haired. But most of them were boys when they died, they gave up two lives -- the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for their county, for us. All we can do is remember." -- President Ronald Wilson Reagan Remarks at Veteran's Day ceremony, Arlington National Cemetery November 11, 1985 "I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Memorial Day, May 27, 2013, as a day of prayer for permanent peace, and I designate the hour beginning in each locality at 11:00 a.m. of that day as a time to u...
